Thank you Easter Bunny

The traditional Easter Egg hunt at Grandma's was cancelled due to her tendonitis. We tried to carry on by holding an egg hunt in our house. It was actually quite easy as we just hid eggs under piles of stuff we are going through when determining what will make it to the new house and what is destined for the curb. Either way, the kids had fun, even though there were no real prizes. As you can see, Margaret insisted on wearing her easter bonnet during the hunt.

WE HAVE PAINT!!

We have paint. My sister, Peg, has decided to take on the job of painting the house. I think we will keep her busy right through April and into May. She subcontracted out some of the ceilings to her husband, Bob. The ceilings are done and now comes the color for the walls. Carly, Matt, Margaret, and Baby have rooms done. The kids bathrooms are done. We are now working on Kitchen and Laundry, to be soon followed with Master Bath and entrance Mud Room. We want to get all rooms with hard surface floors done first so when the Tile and Wood show up, they are not waiting on the painter. One nice Saturday recently, Matt and Sally Gulde paid us a visit with little Francis and Matt's mother, Joan, from Amarillo.

Break from Movie for a picture

We have a few pictures we take randomly around the house. This was too good an opportunity to get all 3 in one shot. We recently bought the Sound of Music, but our DVD player is too old to handle the encryption coding. However, the computer can play the disk just fine. We set the DVD to play on the computer, set up the picnic table as seats, and they were relaxed for a good hour. I know the movie is longer, but they never make it to the end. Also, if you click on the picture to go to Flickr to look at the rest of the set, you will see Matt (who can't read as good as memorize) reading a book to Margaret. They are really developing a good friendship from play when Carly is at school.

Cupcake tree with Candles

Well, we have been behind on the blog. I am thinking of turning it into a monthly update as that seems to be the natural level. We have had a busy month with Carly turning 7 in the end of March, and a party on April 1st. She had over 10 of her school friends for crafts, games, and cupcakes. Carly has had a great year in school and adjusted just fine as 'the new kid'. Although it takes 3-4 hours of our time to get her there and back daily, I think after we move closer we will be glad we established her in the school in first grade. If we had waited until until second grade, she would have a harder time leaving old friends to make new.
