One of the biggest events of the year is sure to be Carly making her first communion. It was a great day. The sun was out with a slight breeze and not too hot. Everyone made it and noone appeared to be sick. All the kids looked very mature and respectful of the process. AFter it was over, we went home and enjoyed the rest of the day. Our party for Carly was to be the next Saturday to accomodate out of state travelers. The day was also gorgeous. The kids played outside quite a bit and were certainly tired when they hit their beds.

Carly turned 8 and picked Cherry Chip cake for her desert. That flavor jus happened to be in the pantry and was easy enough for dad to make. Perfect combination. Although she is 8 and Matt 6, they are roughly the same size. Carly is gonna grow up short, and Matt will be a bit taller. Thinking of starting a bet with Cindy at which year Matt passes Carly.

Leprechaun trap

Every year, Carly attempts to create a trap for the Leprechaun on St. Patricks day. Every year, the little guy somehow gets away, but usually not until dropping a few chocolate coins in his haste. This year the trap was great, even if it still did not work. The idea was to place a ladder outside, bait the inside with some change, but don't leave a ladder inside to get out. Well thought out, but the little irish guy just doesn't trust us and recognized the box as a trap. Maybe next year.

For Easter, after we went to church and had some time to check out our easter baskets, we went to Grandma Carlsson's for the annual Easter Egg hunt. With the number of participants growing, it doesn't take much time at all to complete. Everyone ended up with some sort of prize and went home happy.
